Start Your Week With Gratitude: Counting Your Homestead Blessings

As the sun rises over our little piece of heaven, there’s a special kind of magic in the air. Monday mornings on the homestead are a perfect time to pause, reflect and count our blessings. The simplicity and serenity of this lifestyle offer countless reasons to be thankful, and as we go into our week with gratitude it sets a positive vibe for the days ahead.

A New Day’s Promise

Each morning, I’m greeted by the gentle hum of nature waking up around me. The rooster’s crow, birds are chirping, the rustle of leaves in the morning breeze, distant traffic noise and the first light peeking through the trees, and as I wake, I am reminded of God’s unfailing promise of a new day. This daily renewal is a beautiful reminder of His grace and the opportunity to start fresh.

The Fruits of Our Labor

On waking, I dress and make a coffee, and the best part of my morning is walking through our garden, my garden gives me such joy and I’m forever in awe at the growth and abundance and how things change just overnight. From the first sprout of spring to the harvests of summer and autumn, each plant tells a story of patience, hard work, and God’s provision. The satisfaction of picking fresh vegetables, knowing we nurtured them from seed to table, fills my heart with gratitude.

Simple Moments of Joy

I am compelled to rejoice in the simple moments on our little homestead. Whether I’m laughing over a family meal or wrapped up in the comfort of my handmade quilt or just feeling at peace in evening prayers under the stars in front of a firepit, these moments are fond memories I cherish, and they are priceless. They remind me to cherish the little things and find joy in the everyday blessings. Life is too short to be worrying and stressing.

The Homestead Community Connection

Homesteading has introduced us all to a wonderful community of like-minded individuals. The support and knowledge-sharing, within this community is invaluable. Whether we are trading gardening tips, sharing surplus produce or simply offering a listening ear, these are the type of connections that enrich our lives and strengthen our faith.

Learning and Growing Together

Every day I find my homestead is a learning experience. Each day I am learning new farming techniques and discovering more about sustainable living, my journey of learning and growing on my little homestead never ends. It’s a humble reminder of the beauty of lifelong learning and the joy of growing together as a family. I love to find all my inspiration from books, the internet from other likeminded homesteaders and from people in my community. Some of the older people in my community still have a wealth of knowledge to share and I love listening to how they use to do things back in the day.

Stewardship and Sustainability

Homesteading has allowed us to practice stewardship in a tangible way. By caring for the land, raising our animals and striving for sustainability, we are honoring God’s creation. Look around and see what God has created for us and be blessed by the beauty of it all. It’s a profound blessing to contribute positively to the environment and live in harmony with nature.
