Balancing Work and Worship on the Homestead
When I first started out living a simpler life I was struggling to make time for God, however after some time and thoughtful planning I now maintain a commitment that honor’s both aspects of life. Here I show you how I did this.
Understanding the Importance of Spiritual Health on the Homestead
Firstly, I had to look at what was going to help me be mindful, centered and grateful for the simple joys of a self-sufficient lifestyle. Spiritual health is fulfilling when you live a simpler life it grounds us, provides purpose and offers strength during challenging times. At times our daily tasks can be physically and mentally demanding, however maintaining a strong spiritual connection is essential for overall well-being.
Strategies for Integrating Prayer or Meditation into Daily Farm Tasks
Next, I looked at ways to incorporate prayer and meditation into my daily routine and honestly it didn’t need to be complicated. Simple practices like starting the day with a moment of gratitude, offering a prayer while feeding animals or meditating during a quiet walk can weave spiritual practices seamlessly into our day. Setting aside specific times for these practices ensures that they become a natural part of our homesteading rhythm.
Scheduling Worship and Work: Creating a Harmonious Balance
To balance both work and worship I sat down and worked out a schedule of when I was at my busiest and when I was quiet. I found first thing in the morning before heading out I dedicated time for reflection, prayer and bible study. I’m usually busy up until lunch time however after lunch i made time for meditation and a midday prayer and finally prayer before bed and reflection of my day and giving thanks.
